Fake tax refund offers warning

HMRC has recently issued a warning to taxpayers about fake tax refund offers which could target anyone who has recently filed their tax return.

Fraudsters use various communication methods including emails, telephone phone calls and text messages which offer a bogus tax refund.  These can be very convincing, and can mimic genuine websites.

If you have any doubt if contact from HMRC is genuine, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Suspicious emails, texts or scam calls should be reported to HMRC.
